Portraits of the People Behind the Pistachio

Documenting a living heritage
As part of the museum’s preparation, we have begun recording conversations with growers, farmers and members of the local community whose lives have been intertwined with pistachio cultivation.

These stories form an important part of the museum’s archive, preserving knowledge, memories and practices that have been passed from one generation to the next.
Through portraits, interviews and documentary material, the museum seeks to highlight the people whose dedication helped establish Aegina pistachios as one of Greece’s most distinctive agricultural products.

Selected stories from this ongoing documentation project will become part of the museum experience upon opening.
